In 1981 with a little more than a smattering of sewing knowledge and one bale of cotton and a lot of imagination and enthusiasm Bright Future Futon Company, Inc. was created in my living room, sharing a play space with a toddler and a nursing baby. It was indeed, a "cottage industry"!
We love what we do. Take a look at our cushions and you will know why. They are beautiful, functional, and made with great care. That care not only extends to you, our customer, but also to our employees, our suppliers and to the environment.
When producing our product we use certified organic buckwheat hulls. As much as possible we ship our goods in recycled boxes and packaging. Our products are durable and will last for many years without requiring replacement. Some items may be refurbished and therefore can minimize waste to the environment. We don't build obsolescence into our product line, only quality, durability and satisfaction.
Blue Lotus Yoga Essentials was created to serve the contemplative and yoga communities with our inspired handmade meditation cushions and cotton yoga mats. From the traditional zafu and zabuton, we have expanded and developed the sangha and cresent cushions. These samples of our work are designed to enhance and support the practice of yoga and meditation. We have also included props and a meditation platform to accent and complement the tranquil setting created by the peace that yoga and meditation bring to the mind and body.
